The Coal Association of Canada supports its members by advancing the interests of the Canadian coal industry. Through its communication and advocacy efforts, the Association works to ensure that Canadians understand the importance of coal in their daily lives and in the overall economy. The Association’s membership represents the diverse spectrum of the Canadian coal industry, including companies engaged in mining (exploration, development and production), transportation (rail, terminal and port), diverse suppliers of goods and services, industrial coal consumers, and general associates.

Eligibility


The Coal Association of Canada offers a variety of membership categories:

Coal Producer
(Production)

An individual or organization that commercially produces coal in Canada

Coal Producer
(Pre-Production)

An individual or organization that explores for or is developing a coal mine in Canada, or holds Canadian coal leases, lands or licenses, but is not in commercial production

Coal Consumer

An individual or organization that operates an industrial facility using coal produced in Canada

Rail Operator

An individual or organization that operates a railway that transports coal produced in Canada

Terminal Operator

An individual or organization that operates a coal storage, shipment or handling facility for coal produced in Canada

Supplier

An individual or organization that supplies equipment, tires, explosives, mine engineering, environmental or construction work, or is involved in coal or steel trading.

Associate

An individual or organization (not captured in one of the above categories) who has a professional, educational or business interest in the Canadian coal industry generally and an interest in furthering the interests of the Corporation

Municipality

An organized or unorganized
municipality, city, or similar government authority that has an interest in furthering the interests of the Canadian coal industry and of the Corporation

Individual Membership

An individual, not representing a company or organization, who has an interest in furthering the interest of the Canadian coal industry
